Co2 is stored in your bottle in Liquid form. When you lean your gun forward while playing you typically will get liquid co2 into your gun. Liquid co2 will harm your gun and causes velocity spike which in turn reduces the accuracy of your gun. This expansion chamber will break up any liquid Co2 before it has a chance to get into your gun:
